A mansion from 1861 that combines Pelion tradition with art and tranquility.
The 19th century was the golden age for Pelion, a period when local architecture met the prosperity and spiritual flourishing of the region. In this climate of creation, in 1861, the imposing three-story mansion that today houses the “Hostel of Colors” was built in Lafkos. It is one of the few buildings that managed to preserve their Pelion identity intact, resisting the ravages of time.
The revival of the mansion began in 2002, with a five-year restoration campaign that aimed to highlight its original glory. Since October 2007, the guesthouse has been operating as a model art space. Here, tradition meets the collection of the owner Christos Fotos, transforming the old mansion into a living museum of painting and engraving with a focus on Magnesia. Today, the Guesthouse of Colors continues its history, offering authentic hospitality overlooking the Pagasitic Gulf.
